Interest Mobilization CPS creates the necessary infrastructure and coalitions while working towards influencing key interest groups and policy makers. We have unparalleled experience and close contacts throughout the complex network of EU decision making bodies. CPS' strategy of interest mobilization utilizes an effective array of advocates to complement our clients' direct representation with politicians. We identify the different interests working against a client and mobilize powerful countervailing forces. Such interest mobilization can be vital. It gives impetus, strength and direction to the traditional methods of government relations and public affairs. The individuals and groups that we mobilize have every right to make their views known and their voices heard but often do not understand how to do so or lack the time to find out. We identify and mobilize: Grass roots-such as interested individuals, a politician's constituents, employees, customers or a client's supply chain Interest groups-organizations with root structures that can be motivated to support a client. These can include trade associations, consumer or patient groups Golden roots-individuals who are close to key political decision-makers and can influence them. These figures may include local business leaders and mayors, newspaper editors, top scientists or others with high-level (and often informal) access to key decision makers
Representation in Brussels It is essential to maintain close and regular contact with EU decision-making bodies/institutions in Brussels; CPS has an excellent working relationship with the European Commission, European Parliament and the Council of Ministers. The same approach is taken with Brussels-based professional associations, sectoral representations and think tank-groups. CPS maintains very close relations with these institutions and holds membership with all prominent think tanks and pressure groups in Brussels. Through these channels and close links, CPS represents its clients and their sectors, protecting their rights and informing them of relevant potential risks and benefits. To ensure that we remain at the center of the European decision making process CPS employs only professionals who have technical and professional understanding of European institutions and who are respected within these institutions. Communication with Professional Organizations and European Interest Groups The European Union is a dynamic entity within which it is obligatory to be involved in professional organizations in order to conduct efficient activities. CPS investigates and facilitates the most beneficial professional organizations for clients to join. |
